To display location-specific information to you in case of an emergency, the app must be able to access your location, even when you’re not using it. Please note: Your location data will remain on your smartphone and won’t be processed or saved centrally on a server.
In case you’re interested, the emergency information will be sent to all app users, but will only be displayed to you if you are in the affected area.
No. The app is designed so as not to share your location data. In an emergency, the app receives the coordinates of a location and decides whether you are in the perimeter of the affected area.
The app can be used on Android from version 5.0 (Lollipop) and iOS from version 10.
You can log into the app the same way you do for the student portal or when booking modules. First, enter your UZH e-mail. You will then be redirected to the active directory login, where you can log in with your UZH short name. For more information, please go to the website of UZH’s IT services:

For data security reasons, UZH protects all relevant online applications that include sensitive personal data (e.g. your completed coursework) through multifactor authentication.

You can only search for contacts if you’re logged in as an UZH employee or student.
You must allow the app to use your location so that it can show you public transport connections to your next event in the “Now” tab. You can change this in the settings of your smartphone. Public transport connections are only shown for the next upcoming event on the same day.

The symbols tell you which meals are vegetarian, lactose-free or prepared with regional products, for example. Click here to find out what the symbols mean (in German only). If you click on a meal in the app, you can also get information about the meal’s nutritional value and whether there are any additives or allergens.
The results are displayed using three different colors:
Green means that you’ve received a passing grade for a module.
Orange means that the results aren’t available yet. There can be several reasons for this: Either you’ve only just registered for a module or an exam, or your assessment hasn’t been graded yet.
Red means that you’ve received a failing grade for a module.
Please note that the assessment results shown in the app are purely informative. Only the results in the student portal are binding.
The UZH now app shows you how many ECTS credits you’ve earned for a module as well as the maximum number of credits that can be earned. You can see the number of credits after the assessment results have been published.

If you’ve logged in and are a student at UZH, you can see all of the lectures that you’ve booked through the module booking tool for the current semester in the “Now” and “Agenda” tabs.
If you haven’t booked any modules (e.g. because you’re studying law at the Bachelor’s level), they will not be displayed. You have the option of displaying an earmarked list instead of the courses you’ve booked.
If you’re studying medicine, unfortunately the agenda currently won’t display any courses. We are working on a solution to this problem together with the dean’s office.
For technical reasons, we can only update the module booking information once a day. This always happens during the night, which is why any changes to your modules will only be displayed in the app after a day.
The ASVZ button is displayed on the dashboard if you’re currently eligible to use ASVZ services. For students, the ASVZ subscription is included in the semester fees. If you’ve paid your semester fees, the ASVZ button is available. Employees must take out a subscription and pay the fees online or at the ASVZ desk.
After entering your lunch check account number in the settings (cogwheel icon in the top right corner), your available balance for the day will be shown in the “Now” tab. By clicking on the balance (the box is also a button), you can see your balance and the daily limit you’ve set, which you can change on www.lunch-check.ch.
